The problem

When you need falconry deterrence

High-risk sites where bird strikes, food contamination or crop damage cannot be allowed to occur. Regional airfields and aerodromes are required to actively manage bird populations on and around runways. Landfill and waste-transfer facilities are inspected on their gull and corvid management. Soft-fruit farms, vineyards and outdoor food-processing sites lose serious revenue to bird damage every season. In each case, a passive deterrent — a kite, a scarecrow, a gas gun — works for a few days then fails. A live falcon or hawk, flown professionally, is the only deterrent that consistently holds these sites bird-free.
How we deliver it

Our process

We begin with a detailed site survey, mapping flight lines, feeding habits and timing. For airfield work, we coordinate directly with the duty operations team and Air Traffic Control. We then deploy a mixed cast — typically Peregrine and Lanner Falcons for open-air dispersal, Harris Hawks for perimeter work — flown on a schedule that matches your operational risk pattern. Every flight is logged with GPS, weather, target species and outcome, producing a defensible compliance record for IAA, EPA, or buyer audits. For ongoing contracts we provide a named falconer to your site so the relationship and the birds become familiar to your operations team.
Ideal for

Sectors trusting falconry deterrence

Every brief is different, but these are the environments where this programme delivers the most measurable results.

Regional airfields

Bird-strike risk management coordinated with operations and ATC.

Landfill & waste

EPA-aligned gull and corvid dispersal at transfer stations and active cells.

Fruit farms & vineyards

Peregrine flying to protect soft fruit and outdoor crops from starlings and corvids.

Outdoor food processing

Bottling plants, breweries and open processing yards kept hygienically clear.

Stadia & racecourses

Pre-event sweeps so the venue is clean for spectators and broadcast.

Marinas & ports

Quayside gull control with NPWS-licensed nest management.

FAQ

Common questions about falconry deterrence

Falconry deterrence is a specialist subset of hawking that uses high-performance falcons (Peregrines, Lanners) for large open-area work — airfields, landfills, vineyards. Standard hawking with Harris Hawks works brilliantly for buildings and urban sites; falcons cover the bigger, open landscapes where the target birds need to be moved over much greater distances.
