The problem

When you need gull & pigeon control

Feral pigeons (Columba livia) and large gulls (Lesser Black-backed and Herring) are the two species behind the vast majority of commercial bird complaints in Ireland. Feral pigeons dominate Dublin city-centre rooftops, warehouses and bridge structures — leaving acidic guano that damages stonework, voids hygiene certificates and blocks gutters. Gulls dominate Wexford, Wicklow, Louth and Cork coastal towns and inner harbours — they nest aggressively on flat commercial roofs from April, dive-bomb customers around outdoor seating, and have become a public-health concern in seaside hospitality. Both species need site-specific, multi-method control programmes.
How we deliver it

Our process

We start with a species-specific site audit: pigeon roosts vs. gull nesting platforms, food sources, neighbouring sites that may seed the problem. For pigeons, the standard programme is hawking flights to disperse the population, followed by netting and post-and-wire to lock the site down, with optional gel deterrents on plant decks. For gulls we add early-season nest and egg management under NPWS licence (April–June), Peregrine falcon flying for active dispersal, and stainless wire systems on the roof anchors gulls use to land. All work is documented, licensed, and humane — we never use poison or harm protected gull chicks.

FAQ

Common questions about gull & pigeon control

Yes — gulls on Irish coastal hotel roofs are one of our specialist areas. Outside the breeding season (Sept–March) we use Peregrine and Harris flying to disperse them. During the breeding season (April–July) we apply for NPWS licensed nest and egg management to stop the population breeding on your roof. Combined with stainless wire on the chimney and parapet, this is the most effective long-term solution available.
